Creative Arts Policy

Art is an important part of a child’s experience at school.

Much of their work is cross curricular, but the children will also be taught to look at the work of other artists and consider techniques.  This will lead to the children often practicing in the style of an artist, creating their own art works. They will use art to explore the environment and community, developing a visual awareness of the world we live in. The children are encouraged to use their imagination to create ideas and visual pieces to support work in other areas of the curriculum.

Children’s work is recorded in a sketch book which is used to show progression in art skills, and through creative curriculum topic work.
